Mindless Rant

I am confused!!!

I am the lead test engineer on a couple of projects at work.  The one currently in focus is going to employ a team of 3 testers for a year.  My budget is $343,650 for the whole enchilada (salaries, benefits and overhead).  Before I am allowed to spend any money, I have to [...]

Tip Toe, through the tulips

This weekend I acted on a whim that I have had off and on for a year or so.  I bought a Ukulele and started teaching myself with online YouTube lessons.

Why the ukulele?  Well primarily because of cost and my personality.  I kinda wanted to learn guitar, but I did not want to lay [...]

1-Adam-12 1-Adam-12 211 in Progress

I woke up out of a sound sleep Sunday morning at 3am.  I was not sure why, so I tried to go back to sleep.  But a half hour later, I heard pounding on my door.  There was a cop car outside my bedroom window.

I staggered outside, but by then the police had moved on [...]

Gut Check

Ethan had an endoscopy today.  We were hoping the esophogitis might have gotten a little better.  No dice.  We have alleviated almost every allergen from his diet and stopped allergy shots.  But there is no change.  We will probably have to go back to Johns Hopkins for more tests.  Oh joy.

On other fronts, we are [...]

It is not that bad…it is worse

Spiritually I am in the pits.  Actually it is the sub-pits.  I have to look up to see the pits.  For reasons that are pretty clear to me that I do not want to get into now, my theological tower collapsed.  Belief is very much like the game of Jenga.  You can toss out bits [...]

Outta the Park

Some days are just better than other.  Some days are just great.  Today is one of those days.

Work was work; but I did have a nice lunch out in the pavilion.

After work, I took Ethan to his baseball game.  It was a perfect night for baseball.  We were on the nice field, it was [...]

Sorry

Last night Jenn and I were lazing around the house watching “Terminator” reruns.  Ethan came in for the night so we switched off that channel and tried to find something age appropriate.  The Incredibles was on, but Ethan was not interested.  He wanted to watch The Backyardigans.  My brain can only coast in neutral so [...]

Father of the Year

It is 4:16 and I am hard at work (perhaps hardly).  I am listening to Carmina Burana.  Oh for more tuna.  There is something fishy about that last sentence.

So I had a weird dream the other night.  Here is what I remember.

I am walking through my house when I look out a window and realize [...]
